Host View Assembly location

Does the host view created by the Pipeline Builder build into the output directory?

If so, why?

It does set the build output for the host view to root of the pipeline directory (named "output" in all of our samples).

This isn't strictly required but it does help indicate where the host view will typically end up. The common use case is that the host is located in the root directory and thus will place the host view there as well. If we didn't do this then the default behavior of references to have "copy-local" set to true would have the same effect.

I've seen many people say the HostView will "typically" be in the app directory, but I can't find any examples of how to get it working when it's not.

I don't want all those pipeline folders cluttering up my app directory, I want them under a Pipeline directory. Like this:

AppDir
|
|-Addins
| |-Addin1.dll
| |-Addin2.dll
|
|-Pipeline
| |-AddInSideAdapters
| |-AddInViews
| |-Contracts
| |-HostSideAdapters
| |-HostView
|
|-App.exe

I don't see any reason why this structure shouldn't be possible.
But the only way I can get it to work at the moment is when the pipeline root is the app folder.

Does anyone have any ideas/examples please?

Cheers
